Custom Shoe Design Workshop!

Support fellow shoe customizer Jacob Patterson and come out to this event! This is the first time I believe something like this has ever been held in LA.

Whether it’s pumps, trainers, or boots, custom shoe designers have created a strong niche for themselves in the world of fashion.
Participants will learn the detailed process of customizing and selling shoes, while viewing and analyzing custom shoe design theory with world-renowned artist Jacob Patterson.

Limited spaces available; 12 seats. Emails honored by time received. Call or email with “LA Workshop” in subject line to reserve a seat after down payment. Lunch, materials, and sneakers included in price. All skill levels welcome!
Ask about student discounts.

Above is info for my upcoming workshop! In case you didn’t know, I am giving away free games and shirts of my own design to those who help me fill all twelve seats by sharing it online! Click here to tweet, or here to post to FaceBook, or just reblog this!. Let me know once you have done so and I will enter your name into the raffle for a free copy of Dragon Age II.
Participants of this workshop can expect to learn everything there is to know about custom sneakers. From prepping to designing, to painting and finishing, students will walk away from this workshop with a downright affordable work of art on their feet, and the knowhow to create their own fresh kicks for free from that point on.
I have been around the block in the world of custom shoes, and have painted everything from cleats to heels, but I am also excited to announce that custom sneakers’ only dedicated historian, Brandon “Evolved-Footwear” Laskowski, will be flying out to document this event (and maybe conduct a panel with me if I can convince him!).
Email me at contact@jacobpattersonart.com for information, or visit my site to see a bit of my work and contact me there!
The workshop is in Downtown Los Angeles on October 22nd & 23rd, and runs from 11am-4pm both days, with a night in between for artists to bring their work home and paint in private! I will also be releasing the work of each participant on my blog and YouTube channel, if they are so inclined.
Thanks for the love,
Jacob

Wasteland

Just finished watching this documentary on Netflix and something Vik Muniz says at the end really stuck with me.

“I’d rather want everything and have nothing than have everything and want nothing. Because at least when you want something your life has a meaning, it’s worthwhile. From the moment you have everything you have to search for meaning in other things.”

If you haven’t seen it. Watch it. It offers some great perspectives on life itself and is more than just another documentary about a modern artist.
Twitch gives this documentary two thumbs WAY UP!

PROGRESS

I finally found sometime to start working on the Avatar shoes I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now…The hardest part for me always is starting the project to begin with, but once I found this base shoe with the reptile texture I knew I found the perfect base to go with the theme. It feels nice to actually be putting a brush to some leather again after so long. Hopefully I’ll get this pair done fairly soon. I’ve got some a pretty crazy idea for the box which I hope I can execute…

Avatar X Twitch Customs

THANK YOU for you helping me raise money for Japan!

Here’s screenshot proof of the $346 Donation I made to the Japan Tsunami and Earthquake Relief fund!

Thanks a ton to everybody helped me get exposure for those shoes! It felt great knowing I did my part to try and help Japan out from the devastation…

I can cross donating a significant amount of money to a charity off my list of things to do before I die. Yee!

Odd Future X Twitch Customs

I’ve got huge respect for the whole Odd Future movement, and I plan on finishing this pair fairly soon. It’s still in the queue of projects to finish but best believe it’s going to get done.

Welcome to the new TwitchCustoms.com!

Times have changed, and being stuck with the old Flash version of the site has become obsolete with the advent of all these new mobile devices I have to account for in terms of cross platform compatibility. I’ve decided to go blog style instead since it’s so much easier to update and maintain as opposed to the old method. But welcome to the new site, and expect new work coming sooner than you think!
